About the Team and Role
Join eBay to unite people worldwide, empowering them to buy, sell, and explore value with technology. Seeking a Senior Manager, Software Development to lead a diverse engineering team in backend, frontend, full-stack, iOS, and Android subject areas.
In this role, you'll support experienced engineers in developing scalable, resilient, and impactful applications that power one of the world's largest online marketplaces. You'll drive architectural vision, enable technical excellence, and foster a culture of ownership, inclusion, and continuous learning — contributing to the evolution of global commerce at eBay.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Engineering Execution: Supervise and guide a cross-functional team of backend, frontend, full-stack, and mobile engineers at different levels, promoting a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence.
- Drive Architecture and Development: Develop and evolve scalable, distributed, and fault-tolerant systems that serve millions of daily users globally.
- Lead all aspects of End-to-End Delivery: Coordinate the full software lifecycle — from concept and development through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing site reliability.
- Technical Direction: Steer the team's technical vision, demonstrating proficiency in backend technologies (Java, Python, Node.js), microservices, APIs, and modern web and mobile frameworks.
