Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 July 2026
This Privacy Policy is a noticethat explains how Hyriko (“Hyriko”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the Hyriko website (hyriko.com) and mobile app (together, the “Service”). The Service aggregates publicly available job and internship listings and offers optional accounts, a résumé builder, saved-job tracking, and a paid Premium plan. It is intended for students and early-career job seekers in India, the United States, and Canada.
This notice does not by itself constitute your consent. Where the law requires consent — for example, to send you marketing/alert emails or to set non-essential cookies — we ask for it separately, and you can withdraw it at any time.
Who we are
The Service is operated by Hyriko. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, contact us at contact@hyriko.com. Users in India may also contact our Grievance Officer (see “India” below).
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the Service. What we collect depends on how you use it.
- Account information — if you create an account, your email address and, where provided, your name and profile photo. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and avatar from Google (never your Google password).
- Résumé content — if you use the résumé builder, the information you enter (such as your name, contact details, work and education history, skills, and project descriptions), stored so we can save, display, and let you export your résumés.
- Job activity — applications you track, alert keywords/preferences, and (stored locally on your device, not on our servers) the jobs you save.
- Payment information — Premium payments are processed by PayU. We do not receive or store your card, bank, or UPI details; we store only the transaction reference, amount, plan, and status.
- Subscription status — your plan (free / trial / premium), start and expiry, and how it was obtained.
- Usage and technical data — search terms and filters, and standard request data such as device/browser type, IP address, and approximate region. If diagnostics are enabled, crash and error reports (without your résumé content).
How we use information, and our legal bases
- To provide the Service — accounts, résumé builder, job tracking, and alerts (performance of a contract with you).
- To process Premium subscriptions and keep billing records (contract; and legal obligation for tax/accounting).
- To send alert emails you subscribed to and personalise ads on the website (your consent).
- To operate, secure, and improve the Service and prevent abuse or fraud (our legitimate interests / legitimate uses).
- To comply with applicable law and enforce our Terms (legal obligation).
We do not sell or rent your personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Service providers we share data with
We use trusted providers that process data only on our behalf, under contract:
- Supabase (self-managed by us) — authentication, database, and storage.
- Vercel — website and API hosting.
- Google — Sign-in (OAuth) if you choose it, and Google AdSense on the website.
- PayU — payment processing (handled under PayU’s own privacy policy).
- Resend — delivery of alert and service emails.
- Sentry — crash/error diagnostics, if enabled, to improve stability.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in a business transfer. We do not otherwise share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes.
Google user data (Limited Use)
If you sign in with Google, Hyriko’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use the name, email, and profile photo we receive only to create and operate your Hyriko account, and we do not sell this data or use it for advertising.
Job listings and third-party links
Listings are aggregated from publicly available sources and company career pages. When you tap “Apply”, you leave Hyriko and go to a third-party website with its own privacy practices. We are not responsible for those sites or any data you submit there.
Cookies and advertising (website)
The website uses essential cookies needed to sign you in and keep the site working (these do not require consent). To keep Hyriko free, the website also shows advertisements served by Google AdSense, which — together with any other non-essential cookies — are used only where consent is required and given. Where the law requires it, a consent prompt is shown before any non-essential cookies are set. The mobile app does not show these ads, and Premium members do not see advertisements.
You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info/choices.
Data retention
We keep account, résumé, and tracking data while your account is active and delete it when you delete your account or ask us to (see “Account deletion”). Alert emails/keywords are kept until you unsubscribe. Payment/transaction records are retained by our payment provider (PayU) for the periods required by tax and accounting law (in India, typically up to 8 years). Locally-stored data (saved jobs, settings) stays on your device until you clear it or uninstall the app.
International data transfers
We operate from India. Your information is processed in India and on infrastructure we use to run the Service (website/API hosting via Vercel; database via our self-managed Supabase stack), which may be located in other countries, including the United States. Where a transfer requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. Details are available on request at contact@hyriko.com.
Your rights and choices
- Access, correct, or delete your data — from within the app, or by emailing contact@hyriko.com.
- Delete your account — see “Account deletion” below.
- Withdraw consent (e.g. for alerts or ads) at any time; this does not affect processing done before withdrawal.
- Unsubscribe from alerts anytime via the link in any alert email.
- Clear saved data by clearing app/browser storage or uninstalling the app.
India — Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
If you are in India, we process your personal data on the basis of your consent or as a legitimate use permitted by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), and in line with applicable IT rules. As a Data Principal, you have the right to access a summary of your data and how it is processed, to correction and completion, to erasure, to grievance redressal, and to nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity. You may withdraw consent at any time as easily as you gave it.
Grievance Officer. For grievances or to exercise your DPDP rights, contact our Grievance Officer at contact@hyriko.com. We will acknowledge and respond within the timelines required by law. If unresolved, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
United States — California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to access and delete it, to correct inaccuracies, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. In the past 12 months we collected these categories: identifiers (name, email), account and résumé content you provide, commercial information (subscription/transaction records), and internet/usage and device information, for the purposes described above. We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. To exercise your rights, email contact@hyriko.com; you may use an authorised agent.
Canada — PIPEDA (and Quebec Law 25)
If you are in Canada, we handle your personal information under PIPEDA and applicable provincial law. We collect and use it with your consent for the purposes described here, safeguard it with reasonable security, and give you the right to access and correct it (email contact@hyriko.com). You may withdraw consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, and may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada with a concern. For Quebec residents (Law 25), our person responsible for the protection of personal information can be reached at contact@hyriko.com.
Account deletion
You can delete your account and associated personal data at any time from within the app (Account → Delete account) or by emailing contact@hyriko.com from your registered address. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, résumés, tracked jobs, and alert data from our systems. Authoritative payment records are held by our payment provider (PayU) for the tax and accounting periods required by law. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children and is intended for job seekers who can lawfully enter into contracts. In India, where a “child” is anyone under 18, we do not knowingly process a child’s personal data without verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian. Elsewhere, the Service is intended for users aged 16 and older. If you believe a child has provided us information without required consent, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your data and limit what we collect.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice within the Service.
