Subject Matter Expert (Support&Ops)

Onboard workloads (VMs, databases, NAS, cloud workloads) into backup tools with required policies Manage clusters, SLA domains, retention policies, replication, and archival Monitor daily backup jobs and ensure SLA compliance Troubleshoot failures, performance issues, and restore challenges Perform backup validation and periodic restore testing Monitor backup health, performance, and capacity Resolve incidents and perform root cause analysis (RCA) Optimize policies, storage usage, and backup efficiency Create SOPs, runbooks, and technical documentation Follow ITIL processes (incident, change, problem management) Execute backup and restore in a virtualized infrastructure Take snapshot backup in virtualized infrastructure Perform back up task operations on-cloud & on prem infrastructure Backup migration for database backups from different location/Regions.

Key Responsibilities

Performance tuning and optimization for Rubrik and storage. Work closely with Storage team for storage related issues. Scripting / Automation of Major/ Complex Tasks ( added advantage) Analyze existing backup environment and provide expert advice for optimizations Understanding functionalities of key Backup components/processes Deduplication/ Encryption / Replication / Reclamation / Migration / Snapshot / Retentions Diagnose backup issues and follow up with root cause analysis. Developing knowledge of data backup and restoration methodologies Basic ability to apply change control procedures Organizational skills with the ability to provide quality at pace Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work under pressure Ability to work at a team level as well as an individual level Ability to interact confidently with more senior and/or skilled areas of the business Able to communicate constructive feedback effectively Ability to adapt to changing business and technology requirements.
