Winning with People is our strategic answer to the changing candidate, employee and business needs. Boehringer Ingelheim is transforming lives for generations. Every one of us has an incredibly important part to play in fulfilling our purpose. Built on our overarching focus and cultural framework, Winning with People is our strategy for embracing people needs – focusing on attracting the right talent, as well as supporting, investing in, and growing each employee.
The position
We are looking for a Talent Manager who wants to shape how Boehringer Ingelheim Japan identifies, develops, and grows talent for the future. This is a highly visible role for someone who enjoys connecting business priorities with people decisions, turning talent discussions into clear actions, and helping leaders build stronger pipelines for critical roles.
You will report to the Talent Head and work closely with another member of the team, the Growth Manager. Together, you will contribute to a stronger and more connected talent agenda across Japan, partnering with HRBPs, business leaders, Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, and global colleagues.
Why this role matters
Talent Management at Boehringer Ingelheim Japan is moving from process execution to business impact. The role will help create a clearer talent rhythm, improve how talent decisions are made, and connect performance, potential, readiness, development, succession, and growth opportunities in a more practical way. This is an opportunity to influence how we build future capabilities and create meaningful growth experiences for our people.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Drive talent management initiatives that connect business priorities with future capability needs, talent visibility, succession planning, and development actions.
- Partner with HRBPs and business leaders to make talent discussions more consistent, evidence-based, and actionable.
- Support talent reviews and follow-up actions, ensuring that outcomes move beyond discussion and translate into development, movement, succession, or hiring decisions.
