As a Staff Accountant on the Finance team's Accounting - Books & Records group, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations of Coinbase's India exchange entity. You'll own the month-end and quarter-end close processes, maintain parallel books under both US GAAP and Ind AS, and ensure compliance with Indian regulatory requirements. This role sits at the intersection of global financial reporting and local statutory obligations, giving you direct impact on the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of Coinbase's financial statements in one of its fastest-growing international markets.
What you'll do:
Own month-end and quarter-end close for the India exchange entity, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial statement preparation for both consolidated audits and local statutory reporting.
Drive maintenance of parallel books of accounts in accordance with Ind AS and US GAAP, ensuring all adjustments are properly reconciled and supported with valid documentation.
Lead cross-functional coordination with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, and Source-to-Pay teams to ensure accurate accounting, timely regulatory filings, and proper intercompany settlement in line with applicable requirements.
Support the India entity's liquidity management and customer funds safeguarding procedures in close coordination with Treasury, including oversight of related reconciliation processes.
Build improvements to accounting systems, processes, and controls, including participation in system integrations, automation initiatives, and vendor transitions that enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Execute review and mentorship of junior team members' work deliverables while maintaining up-to-date process documentation for all accounting tasks.
Required Skills and Experience:
Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional qualification, with 3+ years of progressive accounting experience at a Big 4 firm, publicly traded fintech, or SaaS company.
