This Position reports to:
Principal Project Engineer
In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Each day, you will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by applying basic design thinking/design for excellence concepts in projects.
The work model for the role is # LI - Hybrid.
This role is contributing to the to the Process Automation business in Energy Industries division based in Bangalore, India.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Ensuring preparation of technical specifications that are in line with project specifications, preparing or approving of engineering deliverables like SLD, GA, FDS, etc., and performing technical review before submission to ensure that the deliverables are as per the customer technical specification
- Evaluating, selecting and applying standard techniques and procedures to perform engineering assignments in projects and handling testing, installation and commissioning activities
- Assisting in preparing proposals or presentations for service engineering projects or programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.)
- Identifying customer (internal or external) requirements, analyzing and documenting as-is process and process interfaces, discover gaps, design to-be integration in collaboration with business resources
- Creating work plans and cost estimations and ensuring quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost. Completing risk and opportunity assessments and ensuring implementation of resulting actions
- Providing technical support for testing, installation and commissioning activities. Collaborating with business teams to deliver solutions within timeline. Assisting customers on technical issues, interacting with official contacts, contracting and other staffs
- Maintaining network of engineering professionals and sharing engineering best practice across different projects and disciplines. Interacting with various stakeholders, understanding the customer demands, update self with latest trends and technologies used in process automation domain.

Qualifications for the role:
- Minimum 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience in process or safety systems, predominantly in application engineering, HMI engineering, 3rd party communication, FAT and SAT for process automation in any of the domains like oil & gas or refineries or petrochemicals
- Good knowledge on process or ICSS and safety systems (fire & gas protection systems or emergency shutdown systems)
- Knowledge of brownfield scope of work for DCS - modifications, retrofits, upgrades, service and commissioning
- Hands-on experience in producing documents ranging from pre-to-detailed engineering, system testing (FAT & IFAT) etc.,
- Experience in virtualization concepts, ESXi setup, raid configuration and VMware configuration
- Experience in any ABB systems like 800xA, Symphony plus, MOD300, SG400, Advant, AC800M, Melody, AC500 etc,. will be an added advantage
- B. Tech / B.E from a reputed University with first class in Instrumentation or Electronics or Electrical engineering
