Improving automated test coverage and quality across services, with a target of achieving and maintaining high coverage levels where appropriate
Monitoring, telemetry, and observability for integrations with third-party services
Fallback and resiliency mechanisms (circuit breakers, retries, failover)
Making microservices more robust and self-healing
Refactoring legacy services to improve maintainability, testability, performance and operational resilience
Required Skills
Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in Agentic AI development, including creating autonomous agents, integrating tools and APIs, implementing multi-step workflows, and effectively utilizing AI-powered coding agents (CLI and IDE-based) to enhance engineering productivity and software quality.
7+ years of commercial back-end development experience
Strong hands-on experience with Java 8+, with Java 17 exposure preferred

Strong grounding in unit testing with JUnit and Mockito, with a quality-first mindset
Familiarity with resiliency patterns (Resilience4j, circuit breakers, bulkheads)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Desirable
Kubernetes / container orchestration
Prior experience focused on platform observability
Experience working across distributed teams and time zones
Experience with API and event contract testing, and establishing automated compatibility guarantees between microservices and their consumers
