The Physical Network Inventory team are responsible for maintaining the GIS inventory systems that are used to plan and build the Openreach network.
These systems have been fundamental in supporting the Openreach rollout of full fibre to the UK.
The role also involves futureproofing these critical systems to ensure they remain available, operational and well supported into the future.
What you’ll be doing
As a hands-on GIS Developer with strong ESRI expertise, with telecom domain experience, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining geospatial applications and network inventory solutions. The role will focus on ESRI platform implementation and customization, data modelling, integrations, and spatial analytics supporting telecom network use cases. GIS Application Development
Design and develop GIS applications using ESRI technologies: ArcGIS Enterprise / ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Pro
Development experience with: ArcPy / Python, ArcGIS JavaScript API
Technical Skills
• Experience with:
PostgreSQL / PostGIS
API development & integrations
Data migration and ETL processes
Understanding of: Geospatial data formats and standards
• Essential:
5–10+ years in GIS development
Proven hands-on ESRI implementation experience
Strong problem-solving in spatial and network modelling
Ability to bridge business (telecom) and technical GIS solutions
Detail-oriented in data quality and modelling
Collaborative with cross-functional teams
• Desirable:
Experience with: PostgreSQL / PostGIS
API development & integrations
