We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with 5–8 years of hands-on experience in database administration, cloud database management, and data migration initiatives. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in managing and optimizing enterprise databases across on-premises and cloud environments (Azure and AWS), along with working knowledge of ETL tools, data integration, and migration methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
Database Administration Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain database platforms including SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance tuning strategies. Manage backup, recovery, disaster recovery, replication, and high-availability solutions. Ensure database security, access controls, compliance, and data integrity. Perform capacity planning, database health checks, and proactive monitoring. Cloud Database Management Administer and support cloud database services on Microsoft Azure and
AWS
. Manage Azure SQL Database, Azure Managed Instances, AWS RDS, Aurora, and cloud-native database services. Support cloud migrations, database upgrades, and platform modernization initiatives. Optimize cloud database performance, scalability, availability, and cost efficiency. Data Migration & Modernization Participate in end-to-end database migration projects from on-premises to cloud and between database platforms. Design and execute migration strategies, including assessment, schema conversion, data validation, and reconciliation. Perform database backup/restore, lift-and-shift migrations, and modernization activities. Validate migrated data for completeness, consistency, and performance. ETL & Data Integration Work with ETL tools and data integration platforms to support data movement and transformation activities. Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to design and troubleshoot ETL workflows. Support data warehouse and analytics platform integrations. Assist in performance optimization of ETL jobs and data pipelines. Operational Excellence Create and maintain database administration documentation, SOPs, and runbooks. Participate in production support, root cause analysis, and incident management. Collaborate with application, infrastructure, DevOps, and cloud teams. Automate routine DBA activities using scripting and infrastructure automation tools. Skill Requirements
Required Skills
