Job Description – Senior Resident, Department of Neurology

Designation: Senior Resident Department: Neurology Reports To: Head of Department / Consultant Neurologist

Job Responsibilities

Examine and assess patients with neurological disorders.

Manage inpatients, outpatients, and neurological emergencies.

Attend emergency and on-call duties as per the duty roster.

Assist consultants in diagnosis and treatment planning.

Manage common neurological conditions such as stroke, seizures, headache, epilepsy, neuropathy, and movement disorders.

-

Assist in procedures such as lumbar puncture and other neurological procedures as required.

-

Review and interpret relevant investigations such as CT/MRI, EEG, EMG/NCS, and laboratory tests.

Maintain proper patient records, case sheets, progress notes, and discharge summaries.

Communicate with patients and their relatives regarding treatment and progress.

Coordinate with other departments for multidisciplinary patient care.

Participate in teaching, case discussions, seminars, and academic activities.

Participate in research, audits, and departmental quality-improvement activities.

-

Follow hospital policies, infection-control practices, and patient-safety guidelines.
