Remedial Management Group Manager, SVP (Hybrid)

The Special Assets VCAT Regional Lead is responsible for leading the regional valuation function, overseeing the assessment and monitoring of non-performing loans (NPLs) and distressed exposures. The role is accountable for managing a team of valuation analysts and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, independent valuations that support restructuring, recovery, enforcement, provisioning, and exit strategies.

The Regional Lead partners closely with senior stakeholders across Remedial Management, Line Risk, Relationship Management, Legal, and Finance to develop and execute strategies that maximise recoveries while ensuring compliance with the remedial management policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Management

- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of valuation analysts, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.

- Allocate workloads, establish priorities, and ensure the timely completion of valuation reviews and portfolio assessments.

- Provide technical guidance and oversight on complex valuation and restructuring cases.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance valuation methodologies / templates, processes, and controls.

- Support talent development, succession planning, and performance management within the team.

Valuation Oversight and Portfolio Management

- Oversee valuations of distressed assets portfolio; review and challenge valuation assumptions, methodologies, and outputs to ensure consistency, accuracy, and policy alignment

- Direct portfolio-wide stress testing and scenario analyses to assess recovery outcomes and potential losses

- Provide strategic input into restructuring, refinancing, and exit strategies for complex problem-credit cases and valuations

- Oversee the preparation of valuation reports and recommendations for senior management, credit committees, and regulatory reviews.

- Support and Oversee ad hoc projects, including CCAR stress testing, Model Risk management and other regulatory workstreams

Stakeholder Management

- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Remedial Management, Credit Risk, Banking, Legal, Compliance, and Finance.
