Role – Product Manager (Credit Card Payments)
Function/Department – Credit Card
Job Purpose:
The Product Manager - Credit Card Payments will be responsible for driving end-to-end payment transaction performance across the credit card portfolio by optimizing authorization rates, reducing transaction declines, strengthening fraud controls, and identifying emerging misuse patterns. The role requires a deep understanding of the card payment ecosystem, including transaction lifecycle management from Acquirer to Network to Issuer and vice versa.
The incumbent will work closely with Visa, Mastercard, RuPay, technology teams, fraud risk teams, operations to implement industry best practices, innovative payment solutions, and fraud prevention strategies. The objective is to enhance customer experience, improve transaction success rates, minimize fraud losses, and maintain a healthy credit card portfolio.
Role & Responsibilities:
•Drive and optimize the end-to-end credit card payment journey across POS, E-commerce, Contactless, Tokenization, ATM, and UPI-on-Credit Card channels.
•Monitor and improve authorization performance by analyzing transaction declines, customer behavior, merchant trends, network performance, and portfolio health.
•Collaborate with Visa, Mastercard, RuPay, technology, operations, risk, and analytics teams to implement payment enhancements and improve customer experience.
•Identify emerging fraud patterns and implement fraud prevention strategies through transaction monitoring, authentication controls, device intelligence, behavioral analytics, and risk frameworks.
•Analyze transaction, fraud, chargeback, and dispute data to generate actionable insights and recommend business improvements.
•Drive automation of MIS, dashboards, monitoring frameworks, and reporting to support business decisions and operational efficiency.
•Prepare business cases, Business requirement documents (BRDs), portfolio reviews, and management presentations for senior leadership.
•Liaise with payment networks, NPCI, payment gateways, and acquiring partners for performance improvement initiatives, issue resolution, and regulatory compliance.
