Within Microsoft Fabric, the Real-Time Intelligence team enables organizations to act on data as it happens. By combining real-time ingestion, streaming, event processing, and observability signals, the team delivers capabilities that help customers detect patterns, respond to events, and drive immediate action. These experiences are tightly integrated into Fabric to support modern applications and operational decision-making in real time.

The Messaging team in IDC is hiring a Principal Software Engineering Manager to lead our Fabric Event Stream capabilities in IDC. We work on the cutting edge of distributed messaging systems, where milliseconds latency, massive throughput and 99.999+% service availability aren’t tradeoffs – they’re all required! Our infrastructure must be resilient enough for financial transactions, fast enough for streaming and gaming workloads, and scalable enough to move petabytes of data daily.

As the world becomes fully digital, where data originates everywhere and must be processed instantly, this role offers a unique opportunity to be at the center of that transformation. You’ll lead a team of talented engineers responsible for building and operating high-performance messaging and stream-processing systems capable of handling millions of events per second in near real time. Beyond distributed systems, you’ll also drive innovative user experiences that make these advanced technologies accessible to less technically savvy users.
