We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Infrastructure & Specialist to join our India Equities Technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the high availability, reliability, and performance of our mission-critical, high-frequency trading (HFT) infrastructure and applications.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in capital markets, hands-on expertise in Linux/Unix environments, deep knowledge of the FIX protocol, and a proven track record of supporting high-touch trading desks, Direct Market Access (DMA), and algorithmic trading platforms. You will bridge the gap between infrastructure operations, development teams, and business stakeholders to maintain a seamless trading environment.
1. Infrastructure & Environment Management
Environment Maintenance: Manage and maintain multi-tier UAT and Production environments, ensuring system stability, configuration consistency, and readiness for daily trading activities.
Batch Scheduling & Automation: Design, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot batch jobs using Autosys to automate critical operational workflows and data processing.
System Operations: Perform daily Start of Day (SOD) and End of Day (EOD) activities on Linux systems to guarantee environment availability for live trading.
Database Support: Query and manage relational databases (SQL, Postgres, Oracle) to fetch data, analyze table partitions, and support data warehousing requirements.
2. Application & Connectivity Support
FIX Connectivity Management: Lead the functional enhancement, configuration, and monitoring of the FIX connectivity platform. Manage client onboarding, UAT testing, and certification of FIX algos.
Trading Desk Support: Provide on-floor L1/L2 production support to high-touch trading desks for equities, futures, and options, as well as DMA and algorithmic trading desks.

Exchange Connectivity: Coordinate and execute exchange connectivity tasks, including uploading exchange files, margin/position files, and participating in regular exchange mock trading sessions (e.g., NSE/BSE).
Vendor & Developer Collaboration: Act as the primary technical liaison with third-party application vendors (e.g., Omnesys, Traderpath) and internal development teams to resolve complex application bugs and deploy backend fixes.
3. Monitoring, Incident & Change Management
Proactive Monitoring: Utilize enterprise monitoring tools such as ITRS Geneos to track system health, latency, and connectivity, proactively addressing alerts before they impact the business.
Incident Resolution: Own and manage production incidents from detection through to resolution. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and raise/track tickets in ServiceNow and Jira.
Change & Release Management: Schedule, coordinate, and deploy production changes, software packages, and drivers on servers during non-market hours, adhering to strict change control policies.
Regulatory Reporting: Ensure timely processing and transfer of operational and transaction files (e.g., OTR files) to regulatory bodies (e.g., SEBI) and clients.
Experience & Education
Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of experience in production support, application support, or infrastructure operations within the Capital Markets / Investment Banking domain.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics & Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related technical field).
Technical Competencies
Operating Systems: Strong administration and troubleshooting skills in Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
Scripting: Proficiency in Unix Shell Scripting for task automation, log analysis, and data extraction.
Protocols: Deep understanding of FIX Protocols (session and application levels) and FIX configuration.
Databases: Solid experience writing SQL queries and working with Postgres, Oracle, or SQL Server.

Ticketing/Collaboration: ServiceNow, Jira
Trading Applications: Experience with trading platforms (e.g., Omnesys, Traderpath, Gatelab HFT, Bloomberg) is highly desirable.
Soft Skills & Domain Knowledge
Domain Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of capital markets, equity/derivatives trading lifecycles, and high-frequency trading (HFT) concepts.
Stakeholder Management: Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including Institutional Sales, Execution Traders, QA, Compliance, and external vendors.
Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to perform under pressure during live market hours.
