Job description
As a senior member of the Continuity team, you will develop and support the implementation of the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) for Roche Informatics. You will ensure that the organization is resilient against identified risks by defining robust continuity strategies and coordinating response efforts during critical incidents. This role requires a high degree of leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate a complex, regulated global environment.
Description of the area Job Responsibilities
● Leadership & Stakeholder Strategy:
○ Drive medium-to-large product initiatives while coaching and leveraging team strengths to achieve mid- and long-term goals. ○ Build strong partnerships and negotiate effectively with global stakeholders across NALA, APAC, and EMEA.
● Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BCP/DR) ○ Develop, maintain, and own the IT Business Continuity Plan to safeguard critical IT products and services against operational risks. ○ Advise IT System Owners and Product Managers on creating, updating, and aligning Disaster Recovery Plans with backup and crisis procedures. ○ Maintain the Recovery Plan repository and Improvement Registry, continuously updating plans based on audits, evolving risks, and lessons learned.
● Incident Response & Preparedness ○ Serve on the Continuity Incident Response Team, providing expert guidance and coordinating recovery efforts during crises to minimize operational and reputational impact. ○ Design and facilitate regular training, awareness sessions, and complex simulation exercises to build global IT readiness. ● Technical Innovation & Compliance ● Lead the IT side of audits and inspections, ensuring all continuity documentation is compliant and up to date. ● Advance internal technical knowledge and integrate AI, machine learning, and automation into the product roadmap to reduce manual processes and speed up response times.
Qualifications
Education / Experience ● Proven experience driving cross-functional collaboration to solve organization-wide technical problems and aligning disparate engineering efforts towards common goals. ● Demonstrated ability to anticipate future technical challenges and opportunities, proactively developing strategies and solutions to keep the organization at the forefront. ● Regulated Industry Experience: Direct experience working in a strongly regulated environment (e.g., Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, Healthcare, or Finance). Familiarity with regulatory compliance, GxP, and audit readiness is critical. ● Global / Multi-Region Scope: Proven track record of managing stakeholders and coordinating incident responses across complex, cross-functional international teams (specifically EMEA, APAC, and NALA time zones).
