Role Overview As the Head of Information Technology, you will lead the organization's IT function and drive the development and execution of technology strategies across retail stores, manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and corporate environments.
The role will be responsible for managing IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, technology operations, budgets, vendors, and enterprise-wide IT projects while ensuring technology remains aligned with business objectives. You will lead IT teams, drive innovation, improve operational efficiency, and ensure reliable, secure, and scalable technology infrastructure across 2,000+ stores and multiple manufacturing and distribution facilities.
1. Strategic IT Leadership Develop and execute IT strategies aligned with organizational goals and business priorities. Provide visionary leadership and direction for long-term technology decisions. Drive technology transformation, innovation, efficiency, and scalability across the organization. Identify emerging technologies and evaluate their potential business impact. 2. Team Leadership & Management Lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional IT teams. Build a collaborative, high-performing, and innovation-focused IT culture. Ensure the reliability, security, availability, and scalability of enterprise IT infrastructure. Oversee hardware, software, networks, servers, storage, data centers, and related technology platforms. Manage infrastructure across retail stores, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and corporate locations. Ensure technology infrastructure meets current operational requirements and can scale with business growth.
4. Retail & Expansion Operations Build and standardize "Store-in-a-Box" deployment models for rapid store rollouts. Automate deployment and configuration of network infrastructure, POS systems, iPads/tablets, and edge devices. Ensure high availability, resilience, and offline capabilities across retail outlets. Establish standardized IT deployment processes for new stores and expansion initiatives.
5. Manufacturing & Supply Chain IT Oversee high-availability IT and network infrastructure across manufacturing facilities and supply chain operations. Manage SCADA, IoT, OT, and hardware infrastructure supporting automated manufacturing environments. Support prescription processing labs and regional distribution centers (RDCs). Ensure seamless integration between IT, OT, manufacturing, and supply chain systems.
6. Budget & Resource Management Develop and manage IT budgets with a focus on cost optimization and business value. Evaluate and recommend technology investments to improve efficiency and productivity. Optimize IT resources, infrastructure, and technology spending. Establish strong controls over IT assets deployed across the country. Implement systems and processes to track IT assets, monitor usage, and ensure zero pilferage/loss.
7. Project & Transformation Management Lead planning and execution of complex, enterprise-wide IT projects. Manage technology integration initiatives related to M&A activities. Oversee IT requirements for global site expansions and business growth initiatives. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with business requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to successfully implement technology solutions.
8. Cybersecurity & Compliance Develop and maintain robust cybersecurity strategies to protect organizational systems and sensitive data. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and industry standards, including ISO 27001. Conduct regular IT system and security audits covering both infrastructure and applications. Collaborate with application owners and administrators to identify and address security risks. Establish appropriate security governance, controls, and risk-management practices.
9. Stakeholder & Vendor Management Partner with executives, business leaders, and department heads to understand technology requirements. Translate business needs into scalable IT solutions and strategies. Manage relationships with pan-India telecom and ISP vendors. Define, monitor, and enforce vendor SLAs and service standards. Communicate IT initiatives, performance, risks, and achievements effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
10. Infrastructure Operations Own the planning, implementation, and day-to-day operations of:
Network and server infrastructure Google Workspace and collaboration services User support and Helpdesk operations Infrastructure-related software and platforms
Demonstrate strong operational knowledge of: Web Application Firewall (WAF) Privileged Identity and Access Management (PAM) Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS)
12. 24x7 Support & Business Continuity Build and manage a robust 24x7 IT support framework for stores, manufacturing facilities, and logistics hubs. Establish effective incident, escalation, and service-management processes. Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) strategies. Ensure business-critical IT services remain available and resilient during disruptions.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 12+ years of experience in senior IT leadership roles. At least 5 years of direct people-management experience. Proven experience in high-growth Retail, D2C, Quick-Commerce, Consumer Electronics, or Manufacturing environments. Experience managing IT infrastructure across 1,000+ remote sites or retail outlets. Extensive experience leading cross-functional IT teams and enterprise-wide technology projects. Strong knowledge of IT systems, hybrid/cloud infrastructure, edge computing, and emerging technologies. Strong understanding of cloud computing, cybersecurity, data management, and OT/plant infrastructure integration.
