Engineer - Fuel Systems
Airbus
Background:
Fuel Systems team is a part of the ‘Internal Flow & Data Analytics’ group under the Structures department and plays a key role providing solutions through competencies in the area of Thermal and Internal Flow analysis.
The Job Holder will act as a System Simulation Engineer for the Fuel Systems (ATA28) perimeter with the task to perform numerical simulations (0D/1D) to ensure the certification of the aircraft fuel system.
The job holder will be responsible for understanding, development, maintenance and enhancement of the 0D/1D numerical models pertaining to Aircraft Fuel System.
Role: Support all Fuel Systems Engineering Simulation activities
Key Words: Programming Language (Python, MATLAB), Thermofluidic 0D/1D System Simulation (Amesim,MATLAB/Simulink,Flomaster, Python), Single Phase/Two Phase Flow Simulation & Analysis, Mathematical/Numerical Modelling, System understanding (Fuel system preferred)
Technical Skills
As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and competencies:
Essential skills
- Strong experience in numerical, physics based 0D/1D modelling, simulation and analysis (Matlab/Simulink/Flomaster/Amesim/Python).
- Profound Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Heat Transfer, Refrigerants, Two Phase Flow and Cooling Systems understanding.
- Strong experience in applying first-principles engineering (physics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics) to validate and challenge simulation results.
- Experience in developing numerical models in Python to solve heat transfer and fluid flow problems.
- Experience in analyzing test data and extracting system-level insights to drive simulation.
- Ability to learn new tools and processes to ensure the project deliveries.
- Ability to build the understanding of fuel systems of various aircraft to build Matlab/Simulink/ Flomaster/Python models is essential.
- Ability to work in collaboration with a team to ensure the quality of the deliverable is must, as the project deliveries may directly contribute towards the certification of the aircraft.
