About This Opportunity
Join our network operations team as a VAS Operations Engineer, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the continuous availability and performance of Value-Added Services across a live mobile network environment. You will work within a skilled, multi-vendor operations team, managing and supporting a wide range of VAS platforms including messaging, charging, broadcast, and policy control systems. This is a technically demanding and rewarding role for an engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, 24/7 operations environment and takes pride in keeping mission-critical services running seamlessly for millions of subscribers.
You Will Bring
- 2+ years of hands-on experience as a System Engineer in a mobile network environment
- Strong working knowledge of GSM (2G/3G/4G) network technologies and TCP/IP fundamentals
- Solid understanding of signaling protocols — SS7, SIGTRAN, SCCP, SCTP, RADIUS, and Diameter
- Practical experience with VAS platforms including SMSC, MMSC, MCA, PCRF, SMS Firewall, Prepaid Charging, Rating, and Broadcast systems
- Proficiency in Linux OS (including Solaris), IP networking, and provisioning systems
- Familiarity with call flows for Charging systems, SMS/MMS/MCA, SMS Firewall, and Broadcast services
- Multi-vendor exposure across platforms such as Ericsson, Mavenir, Mobileum, Nokia, and HP
- Awareness of ITIL processes including incident management, change management, problem management, and security management
- Strong communication skills in written and spoken English; additional languages are an advantage
- A proactive, self-motivated mindset with the ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to shifting priorities
What Will You Do
- Monitor, operate, and maintain VAS nodes to ensure maximum service availability across the network
- Administer VAS and support systems including SMSC, MMSC, MCA, PCRF, Prepaid Charging, Rating, and Broadcast platforms
- Handle alarm monitoring, first-level fault analysis, and escalation management
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities, including routine health checks and system backups
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and configuration issues, conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) where required
