Job overview and responsibilities
The Quality Engineer supports the delivery of reliable software by designing, developing, and maintaining automated tests for web, API, and service-based applications. The role works within an Agile delivery team to understand requirements, execute functional and regression testing, identify defects, and contribute to continuous integration practices. This position applies foundational programming and testing knowledge while developing practical skills in automation frameworks, quality engineering methods, and production-focused validation.
- Test Automation Development and Maintenance: Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for functional, regression, API, and integration testing. Follow established framework standards, create reusable components, and keep test assets aligned with application changes.
- Test Analysis and Execution: Review user stories and acceptance criteria, identify test scenarios and test data needs, execute manual and automated tests, and document results with clear evidence.
- Defect Management and Quality Reporting: Log reproducible defects with appropriate severity and supporting details, retest fixes, support root cause discussions, and provide accurate progress and quality status updates.
- CI/CD and Test Environment Support: Integrate automated tests into established CI/CD pipelines, review execution results, troubleshoot script or environment failures, and support reliable test runs across environments.
