Job Purpose: This role is responsible for operating Coal Handling Plant (CHP) equipment for optimal performance and efficiency, while ensuring systematic coal handling. This role is responsible for shift operations to prevent generation loss, maintain equipment health through regular testing, calibration, and monitoring and executing trials for fire safety systems, optimizing air pollution control, and maintaining a clean work environment.
Shift Engineer CHP Operations
Operational Management and Maintenance:
Maintain the stake yard according to the First-In-First-Out (FIFO) principle to ensure systematic coal handling.
Execute regular trials to ensure the healthiness of the fire fighting and detection systems.
Oversee shift operations, including control room monitoring and ensuring no generation loss occurs.
Conduct housekeeping quality checks to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Equipment and System Optimization:
Operate CHP equipment to achieve desired requirements with optimum load and efficiency.
Perform optimization of Auxiliary Power Consumption (APC) and Bottom Ash Furnace (BUF) systems as well as testing, calibration, and maintenance of interlocks and protection equipment.
Diligently monitor the condition and performance of pipes within the CHP to ensure the integrity of the system and prevent any disruptions in operations.
