Key roles and functions of software packaging include: Standardisation: Converting application files into unified formats (such as .msi or .msix for Windows, or .pkg for macOS) to ensure seamless operating system integration. Automated and Silent Deployment: Enabling IT administrators and tools such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager and Microsoft Intune to deploy software without user intervention. Dependency Management: Packaging all required libraries, frameworks, and settings together to prevent version conflicts and missing dependencies. Consistency and Compliance: Ensuring uniform installations across devices while enforcing organisational policies and controls. Simplified Patching: Supporting efficient deployment of security updates, hotfixes, and future releases.
Key Responsibilities
Define AIR platform architecture and integration standards Design integrations with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, Microsoft Intune, ServiceNow, Active Directory, CI/CD, and security tooling Architect lifecycle governance, policy enforcement, and deployment orchestration Ensure scalable, resilient, and security-first platform design Lead technical governance, engineering standards, and architecture reviews Collaborate with engineering, security, operations, and business stakeholders
Required Skills
Strong experience in enterprise/platform architecture Expertise in API-first, layered, and event-driven architectures Experience with MECM, Intune, ServiceNow, and enterprise integrations Strong understanding of application packaging, deployment, and governance Experience in regulated enterprise environments Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills Desirable Experience with Nessus , Aternity/Riverbed, or similar tooling
