We are looking for a hands-on Tech Lead to own our Android and iOS app platforms end-to-end, along with the Java-based middleware layer that powers them. You will lead a pod of engineers, work closely with Product, Design, Analytics and Business, and be accountable for both how fast we ship and how reliably the platform runs. This is a technical leadership role, not a purely managerial one: you will still reason about code, architecture and trade-offs, set technical direction, and step in on the hardest problems yourself
What You Will Own
Mobile platforms: architecture, release management, performance and stability for both the Android and iOS applications
. • Backend & middleware: the Java middleware layer between the apps and core services, handling millions of requests a day with high availability.
Engineering leadership: technical decision-making, code and architecture reviews, hiring, mentoring and delivery for your pod. • Release & reliability: release processes, feature rollout safety, observability and the platform's overall reliability posture.
Scale & expansion: enabling new brand and new market launches on the existing codebase without forking it. What You Will Do
Set and drive the technical roadmap for the mobile platforms and the middleware, balancing feature delivery against platform and tech-debt investment.
Lead a team of engineers across mobile and backend, owning hiring, mentoring, performance and day-to-day delivery.
Make and defend architecture decisions, including what ships in the binary versus what is configured dynamically from the server.
Own release safety across app stores feature flags, staged rollout, kill switches and lead incident response when things break in production.

Keep Android and iOS at feature parity without duplicating every effort, and keep both platforms fast, stable and within crash and performance budgets.
Partner with Product and Business to connect technical work to measurable outcomes, and to launch new brands and markets on the existing platform. What We Are Looking For
Significant hands-on experience owning production Android and iOS applications at scale, with genuine depth in at least one and strong command of the other.
Strong backend engineering ability in Java, including designing services for high availability, handling partial failures, caching correctly in e-commerce paths and managing API versioning for users who cannot be force-upgraded.
A track record of leading engineering teams — setting technical direction, hiring well, handling underperformance, and negotiating scope and timelines credibly with Product.
Practical debugging depth: the ability to diagnose cold-start regressions, ANRs, memory leaks, retain cycles and production incidents using real tooling, not just describe them.
Sound judgment on trade-offs migrations, server-driven configuration, multi-brand and multi-region architecture — with clear reasoning about cost and risk.
Experience with high-scale consumer e-commerce or similarly demanding mobile products is strongly preferred.
