Ab Initio Admin + Developer Knowledge

Key Responsibilities

Development

Design, develop, test, and deploy ETL solutions using Ab Initio GDE. Develop and maintain graphs, plans, scripts, and reusable components. Work with large-volume data processing and complex transformations. Perform ETL performance tuning and optimization. Create and maintain technical documentation. Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and stakeholders to gather requirements.

Administration

Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Ab Initio environments. Manage Co-Operating System, EME, Conduct-It, BRE, Metadata Hub, and related components. Monitor ETL jobs and troubleshoot production issues. Administer user access, security, and environment configurations. Manage code migrations across DEV, QA, UAT, and PROD environments. Ensure system availability, performance, and reliability.

Support

Provide L2/L3 support for production incidents. Analyze root causes and implement preventive measures. Perform job scheduling, monitoring, and recovery activities. Coordinate with infrastructure, database, and application teams.

Required Skills

2–5 years of experience in Ab Initio Development and Administration.

Strong experience in:

Ab Initio GDE Co-Operating System EME (Enterprise Meta Environment) Conduct-It Continuous Flows Parallel Processing Concepts

Good knowledge of ETL/Data Warehousing concepts. Strong SQL skills with Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, Snowflake, or similar databases. Experience in UNIX/Linux shell scripting. Knowledge of job scheduling tools such as Control-M, Autosys, or similar. Experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting Ab Initio jobs. Understanding of SDLC, release management, and production support processes.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience with Hadoop, Spark, or Big Data technologies. Banking, Financial Services, or Data Warehouse domain experience. Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps practices.
