Senior Accounting Analyst

As a Senior Accounting Analyst, you will play a critical role in delivering accurate financial reporting, ensuring strong compliance, and supporting key business decisions across the Canadian organization. In this highly collaborative role, you will work at the center of financial close, revenue accounting, internal controls, and process improvement initiatives, helping drive operational excellence while supporting Novartis' mission to improve and extend people's lives.
Job Description
- Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, provisions, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Analyze revenue deductions, rebates, chargebacks, and patient support program accruals and reserves.
- Support compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Drive process improvements, automation opportunities, and system enhancements within financial operations.
- Partner with Finance, Commercial, Pricing, and Operations teams to provide financial insights and guidance.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Certified Professional Accountant designation preferred.
- Experience supporting financial reporting, month-end close activities, and accrual accounting processes.
- Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and accounting principles.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA or enterprise resource planning systems and financial reporting tools.
- Advanced analytical skills with experience performing reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial data reviews.
