Position Summary
The General Ledger (GL) Accountant at SAS is accountable for creating journal entries and assembling supporting documentation, as well as for tracking the contents of accounts, creating portions of the financial statements, writing related disclosures, and accounts receivable. The GL Accountant ensures completeness and accuracy of financial statements and related accounting activities and provides a variety of functional solutions in general ledger and accounts receivable.
Role and Responsibilities
Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Monthly/Quarterly/Annual book closing process.
- Periodic GL reconciliations, analyze expense fluctuations, inter-company billings.
- Respond and reporting internal/external audits.
- Preparation of financial statements and footnote disclosures.
- In-charge of HQ required semi-annual physical inventory.
Skills and Qualifications
Here's what you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent. CPA preferred but not required.
- Must have knowledge of GAAP and IFRS; accounting expertise related to hedging, leases, cash flow, inventory, and manufacturing a plus.
- Ability to understand technical, administrative, and financial systems/interactions (e.g. Purchasing, Logistics, Manufacturing, Security, HR, Accounting, etc.).
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office software skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent organizational skills and commitment to deadlines.
The current base salary range for this role is between $73,000 - $135,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
