Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automated metrology programs for various Coordinate Measuring Machine types in support of precise dimensional characterization of space hardware.
- Use CMMs with metrology software to uncover details around dimensional failures of space hardware.
- Use laser tracking systems to align and characterize sensitive production system equipment.
- Provide Design For Manufacturing feedback to stakeholders in the development of new production processes.
- Support partner teams in need of metrology programming expertise.
A day in the life This role is for a highly dynamic and motivated individual that will work with various production system stakeholders. To be successful in this role you will need to author, maintain and troubleshoot various types of metrology equipment in support of high rate, production system operations. You will partner with Manufacturing, Design and Quality engineers to ensure both space hardware as well as production system hardware meet rigorous aerospace requirements. You will create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures, investigate anomalies and provide feedback where the root cause of non-conformances is ambiguous.
