Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team located in Hazelwood, MO.
This position will support current and growing critical quality and procurement activity for established and proprietary programs for mission-critical commodities. Successful candidates will have a background in supply chain, design engineering, mission sub-systems. Strong preference to candidates with knowledge of design maturity and supporting quality milestones throughout all phases of product life cycle. Chosen candidate will work as part of a cross-functional team located with Manufacturing Business Unit.
Position Responsibilities:
Researches contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements for applicability to specific proposals and program processes and documentation
Support early quality involvement with supplier conducting requirement consumption review
Creates Inspection planning for supplier produced parts. Commodities include; Complex machining, Composites, tubes and ducts
Identify and mitigate risk in supply base
Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs
Performs data analysis to ensure manufacturing and test readiness. Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances
Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions
Compiles performance reports and other statistical data to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
3+ years of experience in Supplier Quality processes
3+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
Must be confident in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, and able to multi-task and manage expectations
3+ years of experience reading and interpreting aerospace engineering drawings and specifications
Experience working with end-to-end Supply Chain processes
Experience First Article Inspections (i.e. AS9102)
Experience working with technical processes such as Electrical, Hydro Mechanical, Avionics
Experience supporting defense/military customers
Travel:
Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
