Citi is seeking a Commercial Credit Officer at the Assistant VicePresident level to join its Commercial Lending Management team in Irving, Texas, one of Citi's largest commercial credit and risk hubs. In this role, you will own end-to-end underwriting and portfolio management activity across a diverse book of middle-market commercial clients, working directly alongside Relationship Managers and Independent Risk to deliver disciplined credit decisions and well-structured lending solutions. This is a high-impact position that offers broad exposure to credit execution, risk oversight, and cross-functional collaboration at the heart of Citi's U.S. Commercial Bank.
Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end credit process for new and existing commercial relationships, from initial assessment through approval and ongoing portfolio oversight.
Prepare and review underwriting analyses for new transactions, renewals, amendments, and annual reviews, ensuring a clearly articulated and well-supported credit view.
Assess credit risk on new lending opportunities in partnership with Relationship Managers, evaluating financial performance, structure, and key risk factors.
Monitor portfolio performance across financial trends, covenant compliance, and exposure levels, escalating emerging risks with recommended mitigation actions.
Ensure accuracy of risk ratings and regulatory classifications across the assigned portfolio.
Coordinate loan documentation and closing processes in partnership with legal and internal stakeholders, managing timelines and credit workflow to keep transactions on track.
Partner with Banking, Risk, Legal, and Product teams on active deals and portfolio reviews, building strong working relationships that support effective deal execution.
Guide junior analysts on underwriting tasks and contribute to process improvements that strengthen efficiency and credit controls.

Five to eight years of experience in commercial credit, underwriting, portfolio management, or credit risk within a financial services environment.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
Ability to analyze financial statements and cash flows to form an independent, well-reasoned credit view and communicate it clearly to stakeholders.
Track record of managing multiple credit transactions simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and maintaining quality across competing priorities.
Clear and precise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present credit analysis and risk assessments to senior stakeholders.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience at a large or regional financial institution with exposure to middle-market or commercial banking clients.
Familiarity with loan documentation, credit agreement structures, and closing processes.
Advanced degree or a professional certification such as CFA or CPA.

$96,400.00 - $144,600.00
