Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) is seeking an innovative, results-oriented, and strategic Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) who excels at diving deep into complex problems and developing AI-powered solutions that drive critical business decisions. In this role, you will design and build department-wide analytical solutions, leveraging AI technologies alongside traditional BI capabilities. You will own the end-to-end development of AI-powered analytical solutions, data pipelines, self-service dashboards, and lightweight tools. The ideal candidate is skilled in database design, conducts advanced analytics using AI, SQL and Python, and thrives in ambiguous, fast-paced environments where defining the right questions is as important as finding the answers.
Key job responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable data models and ETL pipelines to support business-critical reporting and analytics
Develop self-service dashboards and visualization tools that enable stakeholders to make data-driven decisions independently
Design and build AI-powered analytics applications that enable natural language querying of complex datasets
Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) with business intelligence platforms to create intelligent, conversational analytics experiences
Leverage AI/ML technologies to automate analytical workflows and generate actionable insights at scale
Partner with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to translate ambiguous business problems into well-defined analytical frameworks
Write complex SQL queries and Python scripts to extract, transform, and analyze large-scale datasets
Build replicable tools and methods that democratize data access across the organization
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure business health and identify improvement opportunities
Communicate analysis results and techniques clearly and confidently to both technical and non-technical audiences through written documents and presentations
Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, validation, and documentation

5+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
5+ years of using SQL, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), or Oracle experience
3+ years of developing automated reporting experience
Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field
Preferred qualifications
Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
