A day in the life The EE Avionics Dev team supports Amazon Leo's Electrical Engineering department by building and validating early satellite subsystem prototypes. Team members work from personal desks in the Avionics Lab, each equipped with precision soldering and microscope equipment. Work arrives through an electronic issue tracking system, but rarely follows a predictable schedule—most tasks are emergent and arrive with significant ambiguity. This unpredictability demands constant collaboration with electrical engineers to translate design intent into working hardware. Team members adjust their hours to match engineering schedules and shift priorities when program demands require it, ensuring prototype assembly/hardware test stays on track.
