In this role, you have the opportunity to be responsible for design and engineering development of critical components of the Philips Image Guided Therapy Mobile Surgery Products The system design engineer will be involved from concept to realization , ensuring the products meets the intended function and continue to support the product throughout the products life cycle.
The role involves working closely with Product development, Clinical, Procurement and other engineering functions and requires a good understanding of System engineering methodologies and principles.

Your Role:
Carrying out all System Engineering activities of assigned product(s)/product line(s) as per the system engineering process.
Drive system and subsystem assessments and predictions during design
Monitoring and managing that the design is understood and used / implemented correctly by the project team.
Leading technically with respect to requirements, design, realization and verification for the subsystem.
Work with cross-functional teams to refine requirements, reflecting user needs, risk mitigations, standards compliance, and regulatory compliance;
Develop, assess, and report on subsystem interactions and their effects on product functionality, cost, and quality

Design functional components in order to enable reuse and maintainability.
Implementing the constraints that originate from legacy install base products
Obtain and maintains internal and external network for knowledge build-up of self and team.
System / subsystem design/architecture and/or design changes.
Reliability and Serviceability of the system / subsystem / component
Impact assessment, complaint Investigations and resolution
Performing safety analysis according to applicable medical device standards
Complying with all applicable medical standards / regulations such as CE and FDA.
Contributing to Technology Roadmaps process convergence and/or quality excellence for a particular product line
Drive design evolution across multi-generation product releases
Manage the obsolescence and product issues
Work effectively with the multi-disciplinary cross functional teams engineering teams within R&D an across Operations, Supply Chain, Service, Marketing, Procurement, Quality, Regulatory,) to realize results
Create and support the stewardship of intellectual property
You Are a Great Fit If:
Master/Bachelor’s in engineering with 10+years of experience
7+ Yrs.+ of hands-on experience in design of medical devices / products development / maintenance of medical devices
3+ years of Experience in systems engineering area is highly preferred.
Experience in configuration management, tools and techniques is highly preferred.
Experience in X-Ray based products like Mobile Surgery, or other Diagnostic X-Ray based products is required.
Knowledge on the QMS procedures of Medical devices, with ISO-13485, FDA and other Medical Regulatory requirements is expected.
Experience in the end-to-end Design eco-system of Medical products is desired.

How we work together:
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
