Under general supervision, the Supply Planning Coordinator – Level II determines the quantity and timing of materials required to meet the master production schedule or independent customer demand. This role is responsible for initiating and expediting purchase or production orders, ensuring material availability, supporting supplier performance, and balancing supply with demand to achieve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The position plays a critical role in maintaining supply continuity, minimizing inventory risks, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives across the supply chain.
Supply Planning & Delivery
Determine material requirements and initiate purchase or work orders to support demand plans and production schedules.
Expedite purchase and production orders to ensure on-time material availability.
Reconcile order boards for critical suppliers, parts, and past-due orders on a routine basis.
Provide timely and accurate updates on inventory availability, shortages, and backorder recovery plans.
Support allocation discussions with sourcing teams, suppliers, and other Cummins entities to manage supply constraints and risks.
Work with suppliers to optimize lead times and order quantities while balancing supply and demand.
Collaborate with Supply Chain Planners to reposition excess inventory to locations with active demand.
Manage part change requests, engineering changes, and ramp-up/ramp-down activities to minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
Take ownership of supplier schedules to ensure they align with end customer requirements.
