What you'll be doing
Our Quality Engineering team helps deliver reliable, accessible, and high-performing digital experiences across retail banking. As a Quality Engineering Analyst, you'll support the delivery of testing services for key initiatives spanning mobile, web, application programming interface (API), user experience, and accessibility testing. You'll plan and execute testing activities, manage defects and compliance requirements, and provide informed input on technical designs to strengthen quality outcomes. You'll also help advance our testing practices by identifying opportunities to improve processes, adopt automation, and use emerging tools that increase efficiency and consistency. Working closely with project managers, business analysts, developers, and other partners, you'll help ensure solutions are delivered with quality at the forefront.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-2 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you'll succeed
- Test planning and execution - Develop, publish, and execute test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, automation scripts, and status, defect, and exit reports. Identify the test data and environments needed to support effective and timely testing across assigned initiatives.
- Quality delivery and reporting - Prepare testing estimates, support the management of testing-related financials, and track key quality assurance and quality engineering metrics such as velocity and defect slippage. Provide clear reporting that helps teams understand progress, risks, and outcomes.
- Defect and compliance management - Manage defects through the full lifecycle, ensuring issues are documented, prioritized, and resolved in a timely manner. Identify non-compliance items and deviations, support remediation efforts, and help maintain adherence to quality standards.
- Technical input and continuous improvement - Review technical designs, provide feedback, and assess impacts to testing approaches and coverage. Identify opportunities to improve quality through automation, artificial intelligence tools, test virtualization, and enhancements to processes, policies, or tools.
