Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Planning & DeliveryDesign and deliver age-appropriate Spanish language lessons aligned with school and curriculum expectations.Develop lesson plans, learning resources, assessments, and enrichment activities for Grades 38.Integrate listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills into classroom instruction.Create engaging and interactive learning experiences that encourage active participation.Assessment & ReportingConduct formative and summative assessments to monitor learner progress.Maintain assessment records and provide timely feedback to students and parents.Support students in achieving language proficiency benchmarks.Classroom EnvironmentCreate a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment.Foster confidence in learners to communicate in Spanish through games, role plays, projects, and collaborative activities.Incorporate cultural elements from Spanish-speaking countries into lessons.CollaborationWork collaboratively with colleagues to develop curriculum resources and interdisciplinary learning opportunities.Participate in department meetings, professional development programs, and school events.Qualifications & ExperienceFormal certification or qualification in Spanish language teaching preferred.Minimum 23 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international or Cambridge school setting.Experience teaching elementary and middle school learners is preferred.Language Proficiency Requirements The candidate should demonstrate:Minimum A2 level proficiency in Spanish (B1/B2 preferred).Strong speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills.Ability to conduct classroom instruction primarily in Spanish while scaffolding learning for beginners.Skills & CompetenciesExcellent communication and classroom management skills.Ability to design engaging learning experiences and instructional materials.Strong understanding of language acquisition and differentiated instruction.Creativity in making language learning fun, meaningful, and relevant.Familiarity with technology tools that support language learning.Preferred AttributesUnderstanding of Cambridge pedagogy and inquiry-based learning approaches.Passion for fostering global citizenship and cultural awareness.Enthusiastic, collaborative, and reflective practitioner committed to continuous professional growth.
