Amazon Pay Travel is rapidly growing business growing by 40%+ Year on Year from last 3 years. We are looking for Technically strong engineering leader who can lead and grow this charter to newer heights. You will driving the technical and execution strategy to build a highly resilient, fault tolerant Travel categories. You also need to build strong technical relations with partner teams to improve overall buying experience of the categories. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a team which operate in a startup culture and lead one of the fastest growing categories in Amazon. You will be responsible for owning end to end category - marketing experience, pre-booking experience and post payment experience. You will be leading India first innovation and will have opportunity to expand these categories to other geographic locations. As a Development manager, you will identify, hire and build a world-class team of Development Engineers to define, drive and execute on this vision. You will initiate processes that allow the team to collaborate with local as well as global teams with a high degree of efficiency. You will develop a team of highly motivated and talented individuals that can collaborate with Project Managers, Product Managers and SDEs across the company on this high impact initiative. You will have scope to manage 8-10 SDE team. Key job responsibilities Responsible for the overall development life cycle of the solution and manage complex projects with significant bottom line impact Work with product managers in developing a strategy and road map to provide compelling capabilities for the seller community on amazon.in marketplace that helps them succeed in their business goals. Work closely with senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development. Instill best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules. Project management - prioritization , planning of projects and features, Stakeholder management and tracking of external commitments Operational Excellence - monitoring & operation of production services Career management and development of direct reports ### Basic qualifications - 7+ years of engineering experience - 3+ years of engineering team management experience - 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations - Experience partnering with product or program management teams ### Preferred qualifications - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy - Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
