As a Software Development Engineer II (SDE II), you'll help create teams that develop services enabling Selling Partners to promote products through BuyXGetY Point of Sale Discounts (POSD). You'll architect solutions that unify Retail and Third-Party promotions sourcing. This role operates within the Selling Partner Promotions organization, which implements structured processes including Quarterly Planning, Office Hours, and Feature Intake. These processes reduce workflow disruptions, allowing engineering teams to focus on building scalable systems for Selling Partners and customers. Key job responsibilities • Design and architect the BuyXGetY (BxGy) promotion platform while developing expertise in the Promotions business domain. • Drive end-to-end software component delivery through collaboration with Product, Technology, and Business teams. • Establish the technical foundation for future product iterations. • Lead system architecture and drive implementation of coding standards, testing protocols, and security practices. • Mentor junior engineers and drive engineering excellence across the team. • Partner with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives. • Maintain and improve software development lifecycle processes. ### Basic qualifications - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent ### Preferred qualifications - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
