The Skilled Technician – Level II performs advanced technical activities supporting manufacturing operations through maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and continuous improvement of electrical, automation, robotics, and production systems. The role is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment while supporting production targets, quality standards, and operational excellence initiatives.
Working with limited supervision, the technician applies specialized technical expertise in PLCs, robotics, control systems, industrial communication networks, and predictive maintenance practices while coaching team members and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Equipment Reliability
Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, breakdown, and emergency maintenance activities to maximize equipment availability and reliability.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, PLCs, industrial control systems, drives, motion control equipment, and automated manufacturing systems.
Diagnose faults in electrical circuits, relay logic, contactor circuits, and machine control systems.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring failures.
Support equipment uptime monitoring and downtime reduction initiatives.
Automation, Robotics & Controls
Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize Siemens S7-1500 PLC-based automation systems using Siemens TIA Portal.
Perform PLC programming modifications, upgrades, and system improvements.
Support operation and maintenance of ABB, Yaskawa, FANUC robots, FANUC Cobots, and Universal Robots.

Education
High school diploma, technical certificate, ITI, Diploma, or equivalent technical education in Electrical, Electronics, Automation, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
Additional certifications in PLC programming, robotics, automation, or industrial controls are preferred.
Siemens PLC/TIA Portal certification is advantageous.
Licenses & Certifications
May require authorization or licensing related to export controls or regulatory compliance.
Relevant certifications in electrical safety, robotics, automation, or industrial maintenance are preferred.

Proven experience in preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Experience working in high-volume manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
