Senior UX Designer, International Emerging Stores (IES)
Amazon
We are looking for a highly motivated, customer-focused UX Designer to build engaging shopping experiences that help hundreds of millions of emerging customers navigate, browse, and discover the right selection effortlessly—making every shopping journey feel intuitive, inspiring, and rewarding. This is an exciting opportunity for builders and makers who thrive in ambiguity and love solving complex problems at massive scale.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading design initiatives that help customers find what they're looking for faster, explore relevant selection with confidence, and discover products they didn't know they needed—all while making navigation feel seamless and delightful. You'll design intuitive browse and discovery flows, create smart wayfinding systems, and build experiences that reduce friction and help customers move from intent to the right product with ease. You'll work alongside product management, engineering, UX research, and UX writing to define and build essential, lovable products. This position requires deep customer focus, the ability to dive deep and invent, and the ability to make hard decisions fast. To be successful, you need to be highly motivated and detail-oriented while demonstrating the highest standards.
You are an experienced designer with deep experience in e-commerce, consumer tech, or mobile-first environments. You have a knack for making large, complex catalogs feel approachable and easy to navigate. You are an organized self-starter who can deal with ambiguity and are always on the lookout for ways to help customers find the right products faster and shop with confidence. You are an excellent collaborator and have no problem presenting—and defending—your ideas to other designers, product managers, and company leaders. You understand the value of user testing and prototyping and thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment. Above all, you are passionate about solving real problems for real people through research, design, and iteration.
In this role, you will work with other members of the design and product teams to create experiences that are easy to use, meaningful, and aesthetically pleasing to the customer—helping them navigate categories, refine their choices, and discover selection that matches their needs and preferences. You will use market analysis, customer feedback, site metrics, and usability findings to tailor your designs to the customer and best solve their problems. You will be responsible for developing your ideas from concept to completion, presenting them to stakeholders for approval, and working directly with developers to bring them to life.
