Senior Technical Content Designer, Platform documentation
Autodesk
Job Requisition ID #
Position Overview
CloudOS is Autodesk’s centralized platform for delivering internal services and code to production. As the platform scales, high‑quality, developer‑centric documentation becomes a critical multiplier for productivity, onboarding speed, and operational reliability.
We’re hiring a Senior Content Experience Designer to own the strategy and execution of CloudOS technical documentation—transforming complex platform concepts (ADF, deployment pipelines, CD‑Proxy, failover, observability, secret handling, and more) into clear, discoverable, and action‑oriented experiences that developers trust and AI systems can readily consume.
Responsibilities:
- Own the end‑to‑end content strategy for CloudOS developer documentation—setting priorities, defining the roadmap, and driving measurable impact on developer productivity
- Create clear, practical developer docs including quickstarts, tutorials, reference material (ADF schemas, pipeline examples), runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and reusable best‑practice patterns
- Translate AI platform guidance into consistent, production‑ready content patterns optimized for consumption by both developers and AI‑driven tools in live products
- Build scalable docs‑as‑code systems by maintaining example repos, starter templates, and automated pipelines that make CloudOS easy and safe to adopt
- Design task‑focused, interactive content (step‑by‑step guides, checklists, hands‑on workflows) that gets developers to success faster in real CloudOS scenarios
- Shape information architecture—navigation, taxonomy, and search—so developers can quickly find what they need
- Partner closely with engineers to translate complex systems into approachable content: code samples, diagrams, YAML/JSON examples, and API/CLI references—authoring in Git and reviewing PRs
- Validate and improve docs with real users through developer interviews, surveys, and task‑based testing
- Measure what matters—time to first success, reduced support tickets, developer satisfaction—and iterate using data
- Champion docs‑as‑code best practices across CloudOS, including CI for docs, environment versioning, example validation, and localization readiness
