Job overview and responsibilities
As a Senior Staff Representative - Quality Assurance Audit, Regulatory Compliance & FAA Liaison, you will be responsible for researching and collecting information for the FAA Voluntary Disclosure Reporting Program (VDRP), Letters of Investigation (LOI), and other FAA or company issues. Daily communication with all levels of the FAA and company management is required. Must be able to coordinate multidivisional corrective actions and follow-up to ensure completion.
Manage FAA Voluntary Disclosure Programs by identifying, documenting, and reporting regulatory non-compliance issues through the Federal Aviation Administration's web-based Voluntary Disclosure self-reporting system while maintaining accurate records, coordinating corrective actions, and serving as the primary communication point between United Airlines and the Federal Aviation Administration
Lead comprehensive investigations of regulatory compliance matters and ensure timely, accurate responses to all regulatory inquiries and audit requirements
Serve as an internal consultant and regulatory expert on FAA compliance protocols, quality assurance standards, and aviation safety requirements across United's engineering, maintenance programs, aircraft maintenance operations, and Technical Operations Maintenance Control organizations, providing specialized guidance on voluntary disclosure processes, regulatory interpretation, and ensuring strict adherence to federal aviation regulations and industry best practices

Communicate proposed comprehensive fixes and compliance solutions directly to FAA representatives, maintaining clear documentation of progress and completion status for all corrective actions
Monitor, track, and ensure timely implementation of all corrective actions identified through FAA findings, investigation findings, and mitigation processes, while maintaining clear and professional communication with regulatory authorities regarding remediation progress and completion status
Maintain ongoing communication and liaison with the FAA Certificate Management Office (CMO) regarding the status, progress, and resolution of Voluntary Disclosure Reports (VDRs), ensuring transparent and timely updates on all compliance matters
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
Bachelor's degree in technical, safety or aviation-related field or related experience
5+ years related experience
Basic understanding of aircraft systems and Federal Aviation Regulations
Equivalent aircraft maintenance/inspection and quality assurance experience
Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills
Proven understanding of pertinent Code of Federal Regulations and Company Manuals / Requirements
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn Company/Department IT platforms
In-depth experience interacting with the FAA
5 - 7 years of significant achievements in aircraft maintenance, inspection, engineering, and/or quality assurance, with proven leadership capabilities
Travel up to 20%
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Master's degree or related experience
Completion of certified programs in the quality assurance field
Professional certification in quality or safety
FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
Extensive experience in quality assurance auditing and risk assessment
The base pay range for this role is $89,965.00 to $117,212.00.
