Senior RF Systems Engineer

QCT's RF Systems team is in search of candidates to develop and support RF Systems for cellular phone applications (5G-NR, mmW, LTE, UMTS, CDMA, GSM, Wifi) from concept phase to customer sampling. This system is comprised of Modem, RFIC, SW, FW and HW. The successful candidate will:
- Develop IC specifications and system algorithms working with ASIC designers and System Engineers.
- Candidate must be comfortable presenting to technical audiences and able to write technical reports. Should be able to actively contribute to chipset integration of HW/SW/Firmware.
- Bring up complex system level features co-working with the eco-system
- Sustaining efforts for on-going chip designs including spreadsheet/matlab analysis.
- Support Applications Engineering team to solve complex RF System issues seen on customer platforms
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's, Electrical Engineering + 2 years’ experience, or PhD in Electrical Engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience and expertise in at least one of the following areas:
Cellular transceiver architectures, RF front-end architectures, cellular handset design, RF circuit design, system modeling and mitigation of RF impairments, PA system design and efficiency enhancement techniques, Synthesizer design, RF coexistence management across multiple radio technologies, electromagnetics, microwave theory, signal processing, millimeter wave communications, Communications theory, Control Systems theory
- Knowledge of cellular radio/3GPP standards (GSM, UMTS, LTE, LTE-A, 5G NR FR1, 5G NR FR2) is a plus
- Experience using and automating mobile standards test equipment is a plus
- Experience in Python and/or MATLAB, ADS, HFSS simulation tools is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Passion for learning and intellectual curiosity
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to efficiently interact with multiple teams.
