The Sr. Engineer – EMC is responsible for planning, executing, and leading electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing activities across Emerson’s product portfolio. This role ensures compliance with international standards while delivering accurate, traceable, and high-quality test results. The individual will contribute to maintaining accredited lab operations and driving continuous improvement in testing methodologies, quality systems, and regulatory alignment.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Execute EMC testing including radiated and conducted emissions, radiated immunity, ESD, EFT/burst, surge, and conducted RF as per applicable standards
Perform testing in accordance with IEC 61000-4 series and relevant CISPR/IEC standards
Conduct both pre-compliance and full compliance testing for products
Analyze EMC test results, troubleshoot failures, and recommend corrective actions
Work with industrial standards such as IEC 61326 series and IEC 61000-6-x series
Ensure compliance with product and regulatory standards such as CISPR, FCC, NAMUR, and marine requirements
Manage calibration activities including planning, scheduling, execution, and documentation
Maintain traceability to national and international standards and coordinate with accredited calibration agencies
Monitor measurement uncertainty, evaluation results, and ensure equipment accuracy
Set up and operate EMC test equipment including EMI receivers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, antennas, LISN, CDN, and immunity generators

Support chamber validation activities such as NSA and SVSWR
Drive compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and NABL accreditation requirements
Maintain and improve quality documentation including SOPs, manuals, and procedures
Support internal and external audits, handle non-conformities, and drive root cause analysis and CAPA
Contribute to proficiency testing, inter-laboratory comparisons, and method validation activities

For This Role, You Will Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering
Hands-on experience in EMC testing, including emissions and immunity testing
Strong understanding of IEC, CISPR, and related EMC standards
Experience working in laboratory environments with EMC test equipment and setups
Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 quality requirements and audit processes
Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
5–10 years of relevant EMC testing experience
Experience working in NABL-accredited laboratories
Exposure to industrial, regulatory, and marine standards
Certification or training in ISO/IEC 17025
Experience handling lab audits, calibration systems, and measurement uncertainty analysis
Familiarity with validation methods such as NSA and SVSWR
