Key Responsibilities

The Senior Director of Engineering for Buyer & Community drives the technical vision and execution for eBay's core user experience. This role requires a visionary technologist who blends strategic leadership with elite technical execution.

- Proactive Technical Strategy: Create, champion, and proactively influence eBay's deep technical strategy, aligning multi-year engineering roadmaps with macro technology trends and organizational goals.

- Talent and Execution: Lead, inspire, and scale a world-class engineering organization across architecture, platform, and product engineering, establishing a high-performance culture for senior engineering roles rooted in mentorship and career acceleration.

- Technical Depth: Maintain a high level of technical depth and architectural authority. While leading a large organization, retain the ability to comfortably dive into the codebase, prototype breakthrough capabilities, and champion the production-grade integration of advanced AI/ML technologies.
