Position Summary:As a pivotal role within our team, the Genetics Bioinformatics Analyst will play a crucial part inadvancing our understanding of genetic data and its implications in various scientific and medicalresearch fields. This position demands a unique fusion of expertise in genetics, computationalbiology, and data analysis to interpret complex biological datasets and provide actionable insights.Our ideal candidate is passionate about genomics, exhibits strong analytical skills, and is proficientin using bioinformatics tools and programming languages. In this role, you will collaborate withinterdisciplinary teams of geneticists, researchers, and clinicians, contributing to groundbreakingstudies and innovative projects that have the potential to transform modern medicine and personalizedhealthcare. Key Responsibilities: Analyze large genomics datasets using bioinformatics tools Develop and implement analytical pipelines and workflows Collaborate with geneticists and other scientists to interpret data Contribute to the design and planning of genomic research studies Maintain and manage genomic databases Prepare reports and visualizations of genetic data Stay updated with the latest developments in genomics and bioinformatics Provide support in the preparation of scientific publications and clinical reports Ensure data quality and integrity in all analyses Develop custom scripts and software for specific research needs Train and support other researchers in using bioinformatics tools Participate in multidisciplinary project meetings Conduct literature reviews related to genomic research Qualifications and/or experience required: Masters with experience or PhD in Bioinformatics, Genetics, Computational Biology, ora related field Experience with high-throughput sequencing data analysis Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and Perl Experience with bioinformatics software and tools like BLAST, BWA, GATK Strong understanding of statistical methods for biological data analysis Experience in a collaborative research environment Familiarity with machine learning techniques applied to genomics Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS or Google Cloud Knowledge of genome annotation and variant interpretation Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High level of independence and accountability in executing scientific work Detail-oriented with strong documentation practices Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines Effective communication and scientific writing skills Collaborative mindset with the ability to contribute to team goals Proactive, motivated, and results-driven Flexibility and willingness to learn new techniques and technologies
