Job Summary: The Research Scientist will play a key role in planning, designing, and conducting a range of molecular, biochemical, and morphological assays to elucidate the efficacy and selectivity of pesticide candidates. The ideal candidate will have expertise in molecular/Biochemical/Morphological techniques, and data analysis. Key Responsibilities:1.Assay Development: Plan, design, and conduct molecular (including transformation and transfection), biochemical, and morphological assays to investigate the mode of action of pesticide discovery molecules.2.Innovative Approaches: Develop and standardize cutting-edge experimental methodologies to explore the molecular basis of pesticide efficacy and selectivity.3.Equipment Operation: Operate laboratory equipment and instruments, applying technology to prepare necessary media, reagents, and solutions for experiments.4.Microarray: Perform microarray assays and analyze the resulting data, along with sequencing data interpretation.5.Molecular Interactions: Investigate the interactions of pesticide candidates with target proteins, enzymes, and other cellular components in pest organisms through diverse assays.6.Pathway predictions & Data Management: Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data, preparing technical summaries for various assays conducted, and make logical pathway predictions.7.SOP Development: Write and review technical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure best practices within the department.8.Technical Documentation: Document and maintain electronic records of technical data generated within the department.9.Professional Development: Attend seminars, workshops, and conferences as needed to stay updated on industry trends and developments.10. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate with cross-functional teams to explain the technicalities of various endpoints studied in pesticide efficacy research.11. Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with organizational policies related to the safe handling and conduct of laboratory experiments. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field with relevant experience in pesticide research or a similar area. Proven experience in molecular and biochemical assays, particularly microarray and sequencing techniques. Strong data analysis skills, with proficiency in relevant software and tools. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams. Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in a laboratory environment.
