The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities:
Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements
Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint
Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals
Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

10-15 years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role
5+ years of hands on experence with PEGA development.
Extensive experience system analysis and in programming of software applications

Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development
Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
Demonstrated leadership and project management skills

Education:

Technical Leadership and Architecture
Solution Design and Architecture: Lead the design and architecture of complex Pega applications, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards, business requirements, and performance objectives. This includes defining the data model, integration strategy, security architecture, and UI/UX approach.
Technical Guidance and Mentorship: Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to Pega development teams, including senior system architects, system architects, and business architects. Foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Pega Best Practices: Champion and enforce Pega best practices, coding standards, and guardrail compliance throughout the development lifecycle. Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Performance Tuning and Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks in Pega applications. Implement strategies for performance tuning, scalability, and high availability.
Integration Strategy: Define and oversee the integration strategy for Pega applications with other enterprise systems, leveraging various integration technologies (e.g., SOAP, REST, Kafka).
Technical Debt Management: Proactively identify and recommend solutions to mitigate technical debt, ensuring the long-term health and maintainability of Pega solutions.
Development and Implementation Oversight
Hands-on Development (as needed): While primarily a leadership role, may participate in hands-on development for complex or critical components, proof-of-concepts, or to troubleshoot challenging issues.
Development Process Oversight: Oversee the entire Pega development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and design to testing, deployment, and post-production support.
Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality of Pega solutions through robust testing strategies, including unit, integration, and performance testing.
Deployment and Release Management: Guide the deployment and release processes for Pega applications, ensuring smooth transitions to production environments.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication
Requirements Translation: Collaborate with business analysts and product owners to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solution designs.
Technical Presentations: Present technical solutions and strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, effectively communicating complex concepts.
Issue Resolution: Act as a key point of contact for technical issues and escalations, driving their resolution in a timely and effective manner.
Vendor Interaction: Interact with Pega Systems (the vendor) for technical support, product roadmaps, and best practice alignment.
Project Management Support
Estimates and Planning: Contribute to project planning, effort estimation, and risk assessment for Pega initiatives.
Resource Management: Assist in identifying and allocating appropriate technical resources for Pega projects.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Extensive Pega Experience: Deep expertise in Pega Platform (preferably Pega 8.x or later), including Pega BPM, Pega Case Management, and Pega CRM (if applicable).
Certifications: Pega Lead System Architect (LSA) certification is highly desirable. Senior System Architect (SSA) is a minimum requirement.
Architectural Design: Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, design patterns, and software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
- Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Java, J2EE, XML, SQL, and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
Experience with databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) and data modeling.
Experience with integration technologies (e.g., REST, SOAP, Kafka, JMS).
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Docker).
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
