iNSPIRE Design is a product design, engineering, and prototyping company based in Ahmedabad. We work on medical devices, healthcare products, automation systems, and early-stage product development projects.
We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer who can contribute to the complete engineering development cycle from research and experimentation to CAD design, prototyping, testing, and documentation. This is not a CAD-only role.
About the Role
The selected candidate will work on real-world engineering problems involving mechanical systems, product development, and prototyping. You will be expected to research, build, test, iterate, and document engineering solutions while working closely with design and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
A. Research & Engineering Analysis
Research technologies, mechanisms, materials, components, and existing product solutions.
Compare technical approaches based on feasibility, cost, and complexity.
Independently explore and evaluate new engineering concepts as required.
B. Design & Development
Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies, housings, fixtures, and mechanical mechanisms using SolidWorks.
Prepare 2D manufacturing drawings with basic tolerancing.
Maintain and update BOMs for ongoing projects.
C. Prototyping & Testing
Build proof-of-concept prototypes and experimental setups.
Conduct bench-level testing and evaluate design performance.
Troubleshoot failures and perform root cause analysis.

Support 3D printing, fabrication, assembly, and iterative improvements.
D. Component & Vendor Coordination
Research and shortlist mechanical and electromechanical components such as motors, pumps, sensors, valves, heaters, and materials.
Coordinate with vendors for quotations, fabrication, and sourcing.
Support procurement and manufacturing-related discussions when required.
E. Documentation & Collaboration
Document experiments, test results, design changes, and engineering observations.
Work closely with industrial designers for ergonomics, usability, and product refinement.
Maintain clear technical records for all project iterations.
Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat (Work from Office)
Engagement Type:
Internship or full-time role, depending on skills, experience, and ownership capability.
Final-year students, recent graduates, and candidates with up to 2 years of experience may apply.
Duration: Internship duration: 3-6 months.
Based on performance, interns may be converted into full-time roles.

Final-year student or recent graduate in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Production, Automobile, or related engineering fields.
Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles.

Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking ability.
Willingness to work hands-on with prototypes and testing.
Ability to independently research unfamiliar technologies.
Good documentation and communication skills.
Willingness to work from the office in Ahmedabad.
Willingness to visit local vendors when required.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with 3D printing, machining, fabrication, or workshop tools.
Experience preparing BOMs and manufacturing drawings.
Basic exposure to Arduino, Raspberry Pi, sensors, motors, pumps, or electronics.
Hands-on experience with academic or personal engineering projects.
Participation in SAE, Formula Student, robotics, hackathons, or technical competitions.
Exposure to vendor coordination or component sourcing.
