UOP is an international supplier of process technology, products, engineered systems and technical services to the petroleum refining, petrochemical, gas processing and energy industries and is a leader in the research and development of petroleum and petrochemical processing. Participate in the development and commercialization of new technologies and equipment strategically important to UOP.
Participate in the idea generation and analysis associated with the development of design concepts by working with a multi-disciplined group of specialists to establish analytical “proof of principle” of innovative design applications.
Provide CFD support for reactor and equipment optimization and scale-up.
Involved in the analysis of process equipment damage, technical support, and resolution.
Assess where fluid mechanic issues limit UOP’s process technology and target efforts to break through these barriers.
Provide leadership and develop innovative approaches and solutions for advancing UOP’s knowledge in fluid mechanics and granular solids.
Apply knowledge, experience, computer modeling capabilities, and strong problem solving skills to develop innovative and cost effective solutions in designing process related equipment.
Represent UOP in customer and vendor meetings concerning technical matters.
Continue to develop individual knowledge and experience and help mentor other analyst to share knowledge and promote awareness of the latest fluid mechanics and granular solids developments and changes.

Qualifications Requirements:
The incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, per Honeywell standards. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Basic Qualifications:
Masters in mechanical engineering or M.S. degree with 4-5 years of relevant work experience/ PhD with 2-3 yrs of experience.
Developed proficiency using fluid mechanics computer codes (i.e. ANSYS Fluent and/or CFX).
Developed knowledge in computer programming for developing user subroutines.
Ability to travel 10% both domestic and internationally.
Additional Qualifications:
Developed knowledge in flow distribution, mixing, transient flow distribution and thermal/hydraulic events, heat transfer, and fluidization (gas–solid, liquid-solid, liquid-gas, and liquid-gas-solids).
A demonstrated track record of technical growth, innovation, problem solving abilities, and accomplishments.
Demonstrated expertise in multiphase flow and gas combustion.
Familiarity with using discrete particle software a plus.
Able to pay attention to details and work effectively on teams and independently.
Utilize excellent planning and organizational skills to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Utilize excellent communication skills to work with customers, write reports, and make presentations.
Application of Six Sigma methodologies and tools in product development efforts is a plus.
