Role Description The Junior Consultant in Spine Surgery will support senior spine surgeons in the assessment, planning, and delivery of surgical and non-surgical care for patients with spinal disorders. This full-time, on-site role in Ahmedabad includes participating in outpatient clinics, pre-operative evaluations, ward rounds, and post-operative follow-ups. The role involves assisting in the operating room, including preparation, intraoperative support, and post-surgical documentation. The Junior Consultant will help review imaging and diagnostic reports, contribute to case discussions, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams such as anesthesiology, physiotherapy, and nursing. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate medical records, counseling patients and families under supervision, participating in on-call duties as assigned, and contributing to clinical audits, case presentations, and academic activities. Qualifications
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS) and completed postgraduate qualification in Orthopedics or Neurosurgery (e.g., MS/DNB), with focused interest in spine surgery.
- Relevant clinical experience in orthopedics or neurosurgery, with exposure to spine surgery in a hospital or tertiary care setting.
- Strong clinical examination skills and ability to interpret spine imaging (X-ray, CT, MRI) under guidance.
- Competence in pre-operative and post-operative patient management, including pain control, infection prevention, and rehabilitation planning.
- Ability to assist in spine surgeries, follow sterile protocols, and adhere to operating room safety and quality standards.
- Excellent communication and counseling skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail in documentation and treatment planning.
- Commitment to ethical practice, patient-centered care, and respect for diversity, with a professional and collaborative attitude.
- Willingness to participate in academic activities, case discussions, and continuous medical education in spine surgery.
