The IT Supervisor – IT VMO Governance will provide oversight for high-impact initiatives spanning IT, Procurement, Finance, Legal, and external supplier partners. This role will be responsible for managing complex programs related to vendor governance, managed services onboarding, operational transformation, contract lifecycle processes, compliance remediation, and continuous improvement efforts. The position will also ensure alignment with enterprise governance standards, audit requirements, and organizational objectives. Key business drivers for this position include:
As an IT Supervisor – IT VMO Governance, you will lead the execution of strategic IT Vendor Management Office (VMO) programs, ensuring disciplined project delivery, governance alignment, and measurable business outcomes.
You will apply broad knowledge and experience to solve complex problems, lead cross-functional initiatives, and ensure compliance with IT governance standards while improving quality, timing, and cost performance across IT vendor and asset management operations
Key Responsibilities:
Program & Project Management Leadership
Lead end-to-end execution of IT VMO programs and projects, including governance transformation, managed services onboarding, and operational improvements
Develop and manage program roadmaps, timelines, milestones, and dependencies
Track and manage program risks, issues, and decisions, ensuring timely resolution and escalation

Provide reporting on program status, financials, and outcomes
Lead global, cross-functional projects spanning IT, Procurement, Finance, Legal, and vendor partners
Governance & Operational Excellence
Implement and enforce IT governance frameworks, policies, and control processes
Ensure standardization across the IT vendor lifecycle (intake, sourcing, contracting, onboarding, performance, renewal)
Drive continuous improvement of IT VMO processes, tools, and reporting capabilities
Ensure alignment with enterprise IT standards and corporate policies
Team Leadership & Resource Management
Lead and manage team members and/or contract resources supporting IT VMO operations
Assign work, set priorities, and ensure successful delivery of program objectives
Provide coaching, development, and performance feedback
Maintain accountability for team results, delivery quality, and execution outcomes
Financial & Resource Oversight
Ensure alignment to program budgets and resource allocation to achieve business objectives
Track financial performance, cost savings, and value realization
Make recommendations impacting how financial resources are utilized within programs
Ensure alignment of initiatives to business case and financial targets
Problem Solving & Decision Making
Address complex, ambiguous, and non-routine challenges across IT vendor and asset management programs
Develop solutions for multi-faceted, cross-functional issues requiring analytical and conceptual thinking
Resolve cross-functional conflicts and ensure alignment across stakeholders
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Partner with IT, Procurement, Finance, and business leaders to drive program alignment
Provide consulting and guidance on IT vendor governance and program execution
Influence decision-making and align stakeholders across multiple functions
Represent the IT VMO organization to internal and external stakeholders
Compliance, Risk & Audit Readiness
Ensure adherence to IT governance standards, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements
Integrate compliance and risk controls into program execution
Support audit readiness and remediation initiatives
Monitor vendor compliance with contractual and performance obligations
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role, from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who have:
Bachelor’s degree (completed and verified prior to start)
Seven (7) years of experience in Information Technology, including program/project management or vendor management
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Experience leading large-scale IT programs or PMO/PPMO initiatives
Experience in IT Vendor Management, Managed Services, or IT governance
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid)
Experience working across global, cross-functional teams
Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving capabilities
Proven ability to influence and communicate effectively at multiple levels of the organization
Experience with enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, ServiceNow, Flexera, vendor governance platform
